Springtime Ayurvedic Cooking

In the Spring season, nature supports us to shed accumulations from the slower, colder Winter season. While it is ideal to fast or do panchakarma (5 actions cleanse) in the Spring, these are some foods that will help you manage a more gentle sloughing for the season.

  • Cleansing Kitcheree (a mung bean & basmati rice spiced porridge, the classic Ayurvedic dish)

  • Liver Cleanse Subji (a cleansing vegetable dish with carrots, beets, daikon, and bitter greens)

  • Indian Sprout Salad

  • Ghee (liquid sunshine)

  • Parsley Chutney (to cleanse the blood)
