Your daily practices are the bedrock of a good life. Tap Ayurvedic wisdom for harmonizing with the rhythms, cycles, and transitions of time (days and seasons), and design a morning and evening routine that fits your life and unique tendencies.

Fall, Aging & Taming the Wind
In our Colorado climate, Vata dosha (air and ether) plays a significant role in the aging & disease process. Learn to tame the Vata dosha so that you stay warm, juicy, grounded, and anxiety-free. Be prepared to apply herbal oil to your skin, ears, scalp and nostrils. Wear shorts or a skirt & plus a tank top so we can oil the limbs.

Ayurvedic Diet to Nourish Body, Mind & Soul
Edible foods can be medicine or poison based on gunas, season, prakruti, emotional state, flavors, source energy and more. We will learn not just what to eat but HOW to eat. Additionally, we will explore foods beyond the physical body to the mind , spirit and web of relationships. We will taste foods in order to identify their gunas (qualities), and rasas (flavors/elements).

Stir the Pot: Ayurvedic Cooking Class (in private home)

Time to get your hands dirty and share a meal! Together, we will make:

Kitcharee, an Ayurvedic porridge made with moong dal, basmati rice, Indian spices, and seasonal vegetables. This version will be non-vegan; cooked with ghee.

Bio-regional “kitcharee” variation, made with local heirloom beans, corn, and warming spices to aid digestibility. Everyone living in Colorado/New Mexico should make friends with Bolita Beans & Chicos. Vegan.

Rasam, complete with all 6 essential rasas (flavors), Rasam is a light, flavorful, immune-boosting soup from South India. Made with coconut, curry leaves and tamarind. Vegan.

Herbal Allies for Everyday Living
Plants are our allies, teachers and relatives. Have we deeply met them? Come and touch, smell, taste and introduce yourself to Ayurveda’s star herbs and spices including turmeric, ginger, tulsi, triphala, chyavanprash and more. We will make teas & nourishing shakes and learn how to incorporate these plant relatives into our everyday lives.
